Google Glass - แว่นในฝันของเกษตรกร

ท่านผู้อ่านคงจะรู้จัก Google Glass กันมาบ้างนะครับ มันคือคอมพิวเตอร์ขนาดจิ๋วที่เราสวมใส่ได้เหมือนแว่นตา ซึ่งจะมีจอภาพที่แว่น ซึ่งเมื่อเราจ้องไปที่มัน เราจะรู้สึกเหมือนกำลังดูทีวีขนาด 50 นิ้วอยู่ครับ Google Glass มีกล้องที่สามารถถ่ายรูป และคลิป VDO แบบ HD มันมีไมโครโฟนเพื่อรับคำสั่งเสียงจากผู้สวมใส่ รวมทั้ง Wi-Fi เพื่อติดต่อกับอินเตอร์เน็ตผ่าน Hotspot ของโทรศัพท์ android หรือ iPhone ครับ

ผมมองว่าต่อไป Google Glass จะเข้ามามีบทบาทต่อเกษตรกรรมอย่างชนิดพลิกผืนดิน ปลิ้นผืนน้ำเลยหล่ะครับ ลองจินตนาการว่า ต่อไปเกษตรกรที่ลงไปทำไร่ ไถนา เมื่อใส่เจ้า Google Glass นี้เข้าไปแล้ว มันจะช่วยอะไรได้บ้างนะครับ

- Google Glass สามารถใช้หาศัตรูพืชได้ เช่น ถ้าหากพบแมลงศัตรูพืชในไร่ เราแค่เดินไปดูมัน ให้ Google Glass ซูมภาพแมลง ถ่ายรูป แล้วช่วยสืบค้นว่ามันคือแมลงอะไร Google Glass จะบอกว่าจะต้องจัดการอย่างไร ใช้ยาตัวไหน โดยสามารถ search หายาฆ่าแมลงจากห้างร้านต่างๆ ในเลือก พร้อมกับเก็บพิกัดการพบเจอแมลงชนิดนี้ เข้าไปเก็บในฐานข้อมูลบนระบบคลาวด์ เพื่อให้เกษตรกรที่อื่นๆ ได้ทราบการระบาด รวมทั้งสามารถนำข้อมูลไปประเมินด้านระบาดวิทยาโดยผู้เชี่ยวชาญอีกด้วย

- หรือเกษตรกรสามารถใช้ Google Glass ดูใบที่มีความผิดปกติ ว่าเป็นโรคอะไร ถ่ายรูปแล้วแชร์เพื่อขอคำแนะนำจากผู้เชี่ยวชาญ หรือ ดูฐานข้อมูลภาพของโรคพืชจากอินเตอร์เน็ต

- เกษตรกรสวนผลไม้สามารถใช้ Google Glass ถ่ายรูปผลไม้ เข้าไปเก็บในฐานข้อมูล ซึ่งสามารถใช้เปรียบเทียบขนาดกับปีก่อนๆ ได้ ในช่วงวันเก็บเกี่ยว เกษตรกรสามารถบันทึกน้ำหนัก yield ได้จากต้นหรือแปลงปลูกอย่างแม่นยำ โดยแค่เดินไปดูแล้วออกคำสั่งกับ App บน Google Glass ทั้งนี้หากมีความผิดปกติ ก็สามารถถ่ายรูปเข้าไปใน Facebook เพื่อแชร์หรือส่งให้ผู้เชี่ยวชาญตรวจและให้คำแนะนำ

- Google Glass สามารถใช้ในการช่วยดูแลรักษาจักรกลการเกษตร เกษตรกรแค่ใช้ Glass มามองรถไถ มันจะรู้รุ่น รู้วันที่ซ่อมล่าสุด โดยหากเราซ่อมบำรุง เราสามารถบันทึกภาพด้วย Glass แล้วบอกให้ไปเก็บข้อมูลในระบบคลาวด์ได้ เจ้า Glass จะเก็บค่าใช้จ่ายและระยะเวลาที่ต้องทำอะไรบ้าง รวมทั้ง search หาอะไหล่ใน eBay ที่มีราคาถูกให้

- ระหว่างที่เกษตรกรดูแลรักษาฟาร์ม เกษตรกรสามารถถ่ายภาพ สืบค้นข้อมูลต่างๆ ที่สงสัยให้ Glass หามาให้อ่าน ในระหว่างเดินในไร่ Google Glass จะเก็บภาพ และคำพูดของเกษตรกรพร้อมพิกัด GPS ไปเก็บในฐานข้อมูลคลาวด์ เกษตรกรสามารถเรียก Google Map เพื่อเปิดดูในภายหลัง ว่าพื้นที่ตรงไหนมีอะไรเกิดขึ้นบ้าง จะได้นำมาประมวลและตัดสินใจในการจัดการอย่างมีระบบ

- ในขณะที่เกษตรกรกำลังใส่ Google Glass เดินอยู่ในไร่ เขาได้หันไปมองที่ท้องฟ้าและพบเมฆขนาดใหญ่ Google Glass ได้จับภาพเมฆ แล้วบอกเขาว่า เมฆนี่เป็นเมฆฝนมีชื่อว่า Cumulonimbus พร้อมทั้งได้เชื่อมต่อไปโครงข่ายเรดาร์ตรวจอากาศ ... เจ้า Glass ได้แสดงภาพเรดาร์ของกลุ่มฝน พร้อมพยากรณ์อากาศบนจอภาพ เกษตรกรจึงตัดสินใจไม่รดน้ำและพ่นยา เพราะจะสิ้นเปลืองเปล่าๆ

- ความดีของ Google Glass ก็คือ มันเป็นคอมพิวเตอร์ที่สวมใส่ได้ (Wearable Computer) เราเลยไม่ต้องจับมันด้วยมือ ซึ่งจะสะดวกมากเวลาทำงานในไร่ เช่น ตอนขับรถไถอยู่ พ่นยาฆ่าแมลงอยู่ ตัดเก็บพวงองุ่นอยู่ สามารถพูด คุย ค้นข้อมูล และให้มันถ่ายภาพ ตอนกำลังเก็บองุ่น แล้วแชร์ผ่าน Instagram หรือ Facebook ได้ตอนทำงานอยู่ในไร่นั่นเลย

ยังมีโอกาสอีกมากมายครับ สำหรับ Google Glass ที่จะช่วยงานเกษตรกรได้ ทั้งนี้เราจะต้องพัฒนา App ทางด้านเกษตรให้มากๆ เพื่อให้เกษตกรได้เลือกใช้งาน ผมจินตนาการถึงเกมส์บน Google Glass ที่เราสามารถเล่นไปด้วย ขณะที่กำลังขะมักเขม้นกับการดำนา มันคงจะทำให้การทำไร่ทำนาเป็นเรื่องสนุก มากเลยครับ ....

ISSNIP 2014 - The 9th IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Sensors, Sensor Networks and Information Processing

โลกเรากำลังเข้าสู่ยุครุ่งเรื่องของเทคโนโลยีต่างๆ ไม่ว่าจะเป็น เทคโนโลยีอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ เทคโนโลยีวัสดุ ไอที เทคโนโลยีชีวภาพและการแพทย์ เทคโนโลยีการขนส่ง ซึ่งเทคโนโลยีที่เป็นตัวขับเคลื่อนให้เทคโนโลยีเหล่านี้เจริญก้าวหน้าได้ หรือจะเรียกว่าเป็น Enabling Technology ก็คือ "เซ็นเซอร์" ครับ เพราะเทคโนโลยีเซ็นเซอร์นี่เอง ได้เข้าไปช่วยให้เทคโนโลยีที่กล่าวมาข้างต้นพัฒนาอย่างรวดเร็ว

การประชุมวิชาการที่เรียกว่า IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Sensors, Sensor Networks and Information Processing เป็นการรวมตัวกันของเหล่านักวิทยาศาสตร์ และวิศวกรที่ทำวิจัยในเรื่องของเซ็นเซอร์ ซึ่งก็จัดเป็นประจำทุกปีจนมาถึงครั้งนี้ก็เป็นครั้งที่ 9 แล้วครับ โดยได้เลือกจัดที่ประเทศสิงคโปร์ ระหว่างวันที่ 21-24 เมษายน 2557 ซึ่งตัวผมเองคิดว่าจะส่งผลงานไปประชุมด้วยครับ

Body Odor - กลิ่นกายมนุษย์ (ตอนที่ 2)

มนุษย์เราจดจำบุคคลอื่นโดยอาศัยสัมผัส 2 อย่างคือ ภาพ กับ เสียง โดยในชีวิตประจำวัน เราใช้การดูหน้าตาเป็นหลัก ว่าใช่คนที่เรารู้จักหรือไม่ แต่สุนัข เพื่อนที่ดีที่สุดของเราใช้สัมผัส 3 อย่าง คือ ภาพ เสียง และ กลิ่น และดูเหมือนว่ามันใช้สัมผัสที่ 3 มากที่สุดในการจำแนกแยกแยะคนที่มันรู้จัก กับ คนที่มันไม่รู้จัก และสำหรับสัมผัสในการมอง สุนัขใช้การดูอากัปกริยาท่าทางเฉพาะ เพื่อจำแนกคนที่มันรู้จัก มากกว่าจะจดจำใบหน้า

การที่สุนัขสามารถจดจำและจำแนกกลิ่นของคนที่มันไม่รู้จัก ออกจากคนที่มันรู้จักได้ นั่นย่อมแสดงว่ามนุษย์เราแต่ละคนมีกลิ่นตัวแตกต่างกัน และกลิ่นนั้นต้องมีอัตลักษณ์ทำให้มีความแตกต่างกันอย่างชัดเจน ทำให้สุนัขจดจำได้ ด้วยเหตุนี้ ผมจึงเกิดแนวคิดว่า เราน่าจะสามารถใช้จมูกอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ (Electronic Nose หรือ E-nose) จำแนกบุคคลโดยใช้หลักการของการดมกลิ่นได้ เมื่อ 4 ปีที่แล้ว ผมกับนักศึกษาจึงได้ทำการทดลอง โดยเราได้พยายามแยกกลิ่นตัวของคน 2 คนออกจากกัน วิธีการก็คือ เราหาคนมา 2 คน ซึ่งเราก็ใช้นักศึกษาชายในห้อง Lab นั่นหล่ะครับ จากนั้นเราได้ทำการเก็บกลิ่นรักแร้ของทั้งคู่มาดมด้วย E-nose โดยเราจะให้ E-nose ดมกลิ่นรักแร้วันละ 2 ครั้ง คือ หลังตื่นนอน (ประมาณ 7-8 นาฬิกา) และในตอนบ่าย (ประมาณ 8 ชั่วโมงต่อมา) โดยให้ E-nose ดมรักแร้ของ 2 คนนี้ติดต่อกันเป็นเวลา 5 วัน และเพื่อจะทดสอบว่า โรลออนที่ทารักแร้จะสามารถกลบกลิ่นตัวของคนทั้ง 2 หรือไม่ เราอนุญาตให้เขาทั้งคู่ทาโรลออนที่รักแร้ได้ 1 ข้างครับ นั่นแปลว่า เราก็จะสามารถทดสอบได้ว่า เจ้า E-nose จะแยกกลิ่นตัวของ 2 คนนี้ออกได้หรือไม่ ทั้งกรณีที่ทา และ ไม่ได้ทา โรลออนระงับกลิ่นเต่า


ปกติคนเราแต่ละคนนี่ กลิ่นตัวอาจจะแตกต่างกันไปในแต่ละวันก็ได้ครับ ขึ้นอยู่กับอาหารการกินด้วย ตลอดการทดลอง 5 วันนั้น เราอนุญาตให้ทั้งคู่ใช้ชีวิตปกติ และกินอาหารที่เขากินตามปกติอยู่แล้ว แต่ห้ามมีเพศสัมพันธ์ และ ห้ามดื่มเครื่องดื่มที่มีแอลกอฮอล์ครับ เพื่อจะลดผลกระทบจากปัจจัย 2 เรื่องนี้ ซึ่งจากการทดลองนั้น เจ้า E-nose ก็ตรวจพบว่ากลิ่นตัวของแต่ละคนมันเปลี่ยนไปจริงๆ ตามการใช้ชีวิต โดย E-nose ยังตรวจพบว่ากลิ่นรักแร้ในช่วงบ่ายนั้นจะแรงขึ้น (มีการปล่อยโมเลกุลกลิ่นมากขึ้น) แต่รักแร้ข้างที่ทาโรลออนจะปล่อยโมเลกุลกลิ่นออกมาน้อยกว่าข้างที่ไม่ได้ทามาก เครื่อง E-nose ยังวิเคราะห์และแยกแยะบุคคลทั้งคู่นี้ออกอีกด้วยว่าเป็นคนละคนกัน แม้ว่าจะทาโรลออนเพื่อดับกลิ่นตัวก็ตาม นั่นแสดงว่า กลิ่นตัวของคนเรามันมีความจำเพาะจริงๆ ครับ ซึ่งทำให้สุนัขจำได้ แล้วเจ้า E-nose ก็สามารถระบุความแตกต่างนั้นได้

ผลงานชิ้นนี้ทางกระทรวงกลาโหมสหรัฐฯ ได้นำไปอ้างอิงเพื่อที่จะสนับสนุนการวิจัยเทคโนโลยีเพื่อระบุตัวผู้ก่อการร้ายแก่มหาวิทยาลัยในสหรัฐอเมริกาด้วยครับ .... จากวันนั้นเป็นต้นมา ผมยังทำวิจัยเกี่ยวกับกลิ่นตัวมนุษย์มาเรื่อยๆ ครับ เดี๋ยววันหลังผมจะเล่าให้ฟังครับว่า ผมได้ค้นพบอะไรอีกบ้าง และได้เทคโนโลยีใหม่อะไร ติดตามอ่านกันนะครับ
